One game for all prototype rules

Proposed Rules (Starting in December)

  • We will play on the 2nd and 4th day of each month (2nd and 4th Tuesday, 2nd and 4th Wednesday, etc.)

    • A given day of the week may be adjusted due to holidays at the DM's discretion​

    • Knight's membership will cover all sessions for a month

      • You do not have to be a Knight to play.  A non-Knight session fee would be $15​

  • Each group is participating in the same adventure

    • Each "team" e.g. Team Tuesday, Team Wednesday, etc., is encouraged to come up with a team name​

  • Each group is a part of a larger adventuring "party" and all are allies

    • This is a completely cooperative game

    • No actions against other groups are allowed.  You are part of a larger team

    • Each team has autonomy to make decisions the day they play. Other teams will abide by those decisions as if they are approved by the larger party (i.e. no killing an NPC that has been made an ally just get his stuff)

  • If a player character needs or wants to leave the adventure (recover from walking wounded, rest, train, create Magic items) that player must play a back-up character

  • Magic items and treasure found are made available for every group.  Consumable items will be duplicated for each group.

    • Monetary treasure found on days you do not play will be automatically placed in your bank vault (as long as you submit your character sheet at least 1 day before next you play.)

  • One universal clock, time spent advances the clock for all characters

    • downtime is handled out of session​ in most cases

  • 1 character per player earns XP every day there is a game (as long as you submit your character sheet at least 1 day before next you play.)  It will be the character that last played a session.

    • Back-up/ replacement characters start at the lowest level appropriate for the adventure, per the DM

    • Knights get a 10% XP bonus

    • Surviving party members get XP based on creatures defeated by the group

      • Off-day parties get 1/2 this amount if you have submitted your character sheet​

    • Surviving party members get XP based on non-magical treasure found

      • 1/2 XP per gp value recovered

        • Off-day parties get 1/2 this amount if you have submitted your character sheet

    • Surviving party members get XP based on magical treasure found

      • 1/2 XP per crafted XP value of items recovered

        • Off-day parties get 1/2 this amount if you have submitted your character sheet

    • The following bonus XP amounts are earned only by active day characters

      • Player has a clever idea = 50 - 100 XP​

      • Player has an idea that saves the party = 100 - 500 XP

      • Player role-plays their character well = 100 - 200 XP (possibly doubled if  some game advantage was sacrificed for role-play)

      • Player encourages others to participate = 100 - 200 XP

      • Character defeats a creature in single combat = XP value of the creature (not divided)

        • Class Rewards​

          • Warriors

            • 10XP per HD of creature defeated​ (20 for Rangers if its a species enemy)

              • Barbarians only

                • Acquire or use magical items not associated with homeland or made from material not available in homeland = 0 XP​

                • Destroy outworld magical item instead of keeping it = XP value

                • Slay an evil wizard or priest = 150% XP value

                • Player roleplays barbarian as very superstitious and distrustful of magic = 200 XP

              • Paladins only​

                • Spells cast to overcome foes or problems = 25 XP/ Spell level ​

                • Per character changed from LN, NG, N, or CG to Lawful Good by paladin's direct influence = 50 XP​/level

                • Spells cast to further ethos = 50 XP

                • Accepted as member of an order = 500 XP

                • Become High Officer of an order = 500 XP

              • Rangers only​

                • Spells cast to overcome foes or problems or further ethos = 100 XP/ Spell level ​

                • Per successful use of a class or kit ability = 100 XP​

                • Follower per trick or task trained = 100 XP

          • Priests

            • successful use of a granted power = 100 XP​

            • Spells cast to overcome foes or problems = 50 XP/ Spell level (100 XP/ Spell level when cast to support the beliefs and attitude of their mythos

            • Making a potion, scroll, or permanent magic item = XP value of item

          • Wizards

            • Spells cast to overcome foes or problems = 50 XP/ Spell level

            • Spells successfully researched = 500 XP/Spell level

            • Making a potion, scroll, or permanent magic item = XP value of item

          • Rogues

            • Per successful use of a thief ability = 200 XP​ (100 XP for bards)

            • Per gold piece value of treasure obtained = 2 XP (1 XP fpr Bards)

              • Bards only

                • per HD of creature defeated​ = 5 XP

                • Per successful use of 10th-level ability to read any written magical device = 200 XP​

                • Per successful use of a bard benefit =- 1560 XP

                • spell level cast to overcome foes or problem = 25XP/spell level

                • For each significant performance of the bards entertaining talents = 100 XP

                • For each major performance of the bards entertaining talents = 500 XP

    • Played characters get an extra 50XP per session played plus 50 XP per MVP vote received, if you have submitted your character sheet on time

    • Played characters that are voted MVP get 1/20th the XP needed to advance from the beginning of their current level XP to their next level XP

    • You can play on more than one day using the same or different characters

  • ​Training thoughts

    • You must spend 1 week per level gained ( 2 weeks for 2nd level, 3 for third, etc.) to train

    • You must spend 50gp per level reached (100 for 2nd, 150 for 3rd, etc.) plus living expenses

    • Characters training must adventure with a back-up character replacing the training character or spend living expenses based on time waiting

  • RTG Reward Points earned

    • 10 per hour played (double for Knights

    • 10 per MVP vote received (double for Knights)

    • 100 if voted MVP

  • Knight rewards

    • 10% XP bonus

    • 1 free re-roll per session

  • Other rewards

    • +1 chip per $10 spent

    • +1 if you have a mini from the store (must be an RPG mini, not blind box or from another game) that matches your character

    • +1 if you have painted said mini or it was a prepainted mini
